A 30-hectare family-owned estate in Italy’s premier sparkling wine region of Franciacorta. Riccardo Ricci-Curbastro has long been one of the leading figures in the appellation and has stood by his view that Franciacorta can only flourish by having more stringent quality criteria than Champagne (eg 18 months’ minimum ageing on the lees rather than Champagne’s 15). We are proud to present two wines made in collaboration between Ricci-Curbastro and Owen Bird, Enotria’s Tasmanian Director of Winemaking. The Satèn is exclusively Chardonnay with partial barrel fermentation and bottle fermentation to around four atmospheres, whilst the rosé is a Chardonnay/Pinot Noir blend of immense style.
