Vincent and Philippe Lécheneaut inherited their 12-hectare estate in Nuits-St.-Georges from their father, Fernand. Despite receiving numerous plaudits including glowing comments from the influential American Robert Parker, the brothers have no desire to expand the domaine, preferring to concentrate on their current holding. They really are masters of Nuits-St.-Georges, with their ability to make wines with the appellation’s characteristic power, while giving some polish to its notoriously hard tannins. Even in the more difficult 2008 vintage, the wines possess succulence and charm around their characteristic structure.
