Château d'Issan

Margaux (France)

Château d’Issan is reported to have been served at the marriage of Eleanor d’Aquitane and Henry Plantagenet during the Middle Ages. There are records of Château d’Issan kept in the cellars of The Prince of Wales during the 18th Century, and in the late 19th Century the Emperor Franz-Joseph of Austria thought so highly of this wine that he regularly served it at court. The Château’s motto is “For the Tables of Kings and the Altars of Gods” – if you are looking for a claret with pedigree, you can't go far wrong with this timeless classic.
