First planted in the late 1600s as part of the original Constantia estate, these legendary sweet wines were celebrated in literature by the likes of Jane Austen, Charles Dickens and Baudelaire. They were sought-after by Napoleon in his exile, and by the courts of Europe in the 18th and 19th century. Situated on the eastern slopes of Constantia Mountain, the vineyards are cooled by breezes from both the Atlantic and Indian oceans and the soil is comprised of decomposed Table Mountain granite. Made from 100% Muscat de Frontignan.
