The Cipressi family has been active in local wine production for three generations. They began making wines principally from local grape varieties such as Montepulciano, Trebbiano, Aglianico, Falanghina, but recently they have focused special attention on the cultivation and vinification of the Tintilia grape, an ancient, indigenous variety that had virtually vanished from vineyards until a short time ago. It is almost like a Syrah/Merlot cross, both powerful and sweet.
