Maremma is one of Italy’s most exciting wine regions, which is enjoying a real renaissance and where many top producers have begun to exploit its unique terroir. With its sandy soil and warmer climate than Chianti, allied to the powerful sea breezes it experiences, it is no surprise that Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot do well here, just as the native Sangiovese – still the main element in DOC Morellino – does. We have a new Vermentino – the only white wine with a historical connection to Tuscany – from this estate in 2010.
