Training and Development
Our employees’ development is really important to us and we work hard to ensure that individual and business related development needs are identified and supported, enabling our employees to grow and succeed with our business.
Induction We want all new employees to feel welcome from the outset of their employment with us and receive the necessary tools and information to help them integrate into our team and thrive in their new role. Induction programmes are planned for all new employees providing the opportunity to meet and spend time with different departments and teams.
Appraisals We conduct regular appraisals with our employees to review performance, record progress and achievement, set clear objectives and identify any individual training and development needs. A full annual appraisal is supported by two mid-year reviews. Our continuing success is dependent on our people and we actively encourage the personal development of our employees.
Product Knowledge We are very proud to have our own Wine Training Department from which we run both our bespoke customer training programmes and Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) courses, for whom we are an Approved Programme Provider. We consider product knowledge to be hugely important for both our own employees and our customers and all employees have the opportunity to study for WSET qualifications. Furthermore, throughout the year our suppliers run in-depth product training sessions at our offices, enabling our employees to continually develop their wine knowledge.
